Electrical filter layout:
- Woofer: Low pass 12dB/oct. with impedance correction of the upper bass reflex cut-off
- Mid-range driver: Bandpass 2x12dB/oct, locking circuit for frequency linearization in the
mid-range area around 700Hz
- Tweeter: High pass 12dB/oct. locking circuit for frequency linearization around 15kHz
- Galvanic separation of the woofer and mid-range section for bi-wiring
- Impedance correction of the mid-high range by series resonant circuit
Drivers Specifications:
Woofer:
- 170mm die-cast light alloy enclosure, rigid, magnetically non-condusive and no magnetic-loss
- Drilled vent hole in the pole core for ventilation behind the dustcap
- Extremely stable aluminum diaphragm with completely resonance free response exceeding
2000Hz
- 25mm Kapton coil frame, extremely heat resistant and completely free of eddy-current loss
- 18mm high-wound magnetic coil with linear cone throw of +/-6mm, which is longer by a factor
of 2 in comparison with most other woofers in its class
Mid-range Driver:
- 136mm die-cast light alloy enclosure, rigid, also magnetically non-condusive and no magnetic
loss
- Drilled vent hole in the pole core for ventilation
- Low resonance coated paper cone with resonance free response exceeding 4000Hz
- 25mm Kapton coil frame with extreme heat resistant and free of eddy-current loss
- 9.6mm high-wound magnetic coil with linear throw of +/-3mm, which constitutes a very large
excursion for a mid-range driver
Tweeter:
- A custom made J.E.T. tweeter operating on the air motion transformer principle
- Folded ribbon with aluminum conductors allows speed transformation by a factor of 5, therefore the air molecules able to move five times faster than the ribbon membrane
All the drivers are individually measured and matched by computer with a guaranteed deviation of less than 0.5dB. By this arduous procedure it basically turn out a practically identical speakers, which is unique in this price range. |
