The Firemine digital cable uses inner conductor which is a high conduction copper alloy deposit. Despite its large diameter (roughly 18 AWG), it has a very low conducting mass.      Proper signal to shield (ground plane) spacing and insulating is a simple combination of common stock polyethylene and a proprietary catalyst which produces a micro-cellular foam. The combination of materials and processes yields a very uniform density dielectric. Standard foamed dielectric processes produce a medium with much larger cells and radial density variance, which results in zero cellular structure around the critical area next to the center conductor.
